Implementasi Menghafal Alquran terhadap Hasil Belajar Siswa SMP Al-Mukhtar Lamongan

Nowadays, we have seen the establishment of many Quran houses, tahfidz institutions, Islamic boarding schools, and so on that support the process of memorizing the Quran which is growing day by day and even in Lamongan in particular, almost all formal schools, both private and state, have made learning to memorize the Quran one of the subjects that is specifically for their students, one of the goals is to form a Quranic personality, noble character, and pious deeds. This study aims to examine the implementation of the Al-Qur’an memorization program and its effect on the academic achievement of students at SMP Al-Mukhtar Lamongan. Memorizing the Al-Qur’an is believed not only to provide spiritual value but also to have a significant impact on the cognitive and affective aspects of students. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive narrative method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that Al-Qur’an memorization activities are carried out systematically through a special program, with a time allocation of 8 hours per week and grouping based on students' reading and memorization abilities into three levels, namely Muhtadi, Wustha’, and ‘Aly. This indicates that memorizing the Qur'an has a positive impact on students' academic achievements. The study concludes that strengthening the culture of Qur'an memorization contributes significantly to building discipline, perseverance, and supporting students' academic achievements holistically.
