Abstract

One of the techniques used in group counseling is behavioral techniques. Behavioral techniques are techniques based on theories about learning in an effort to change behavior that can help people learn to solve interpersonal, emotional, and certain decision problems. Departing from the description above, the problem formulation in this study can be determined, namely (1) How is the implementation of behavioral technique group counseling on the learning motivation of MTs Sunan Drajat Students in the 2020-2021 Academic Year. (2) What is the effect of behavioral technique group counseling on the learning motivation of MTs Sunan Drajat Students in the 2020-2021 Academic Year. This study uses a quantitative experiment (quasi-experimental design), the population in this study were all 109 students at the Al-Hidayah Dormitory. The sample in this study was 8 students as the experimental group and 8 students as the control group. The results of this study indicate that: (1) the implementation of behavioral technique group counseling for students at Al-Hidayah Dormitory was carried out for 3 meetings with a set time of 45 minutes for each meeting (2) there was a significant influence on the learning motivation of students at Al-Hidayah Dormitory between before and after receiving behavioral technique group counseling. This is proven by the results of the Mann-Whitney U test Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) 0.004 < 0.05 indicating that behavioral technique group counseling had an influence on the learning motivation of students at MTs Sunan Drajat. So it can be concluded that Ha is accepted.
