Abstract

The principal has an important role in coordinating education and encouraging the implementation of the madrasah's vision and mission. Good teacher performance is highly expected by both the institution and students. Good teacher performance is also influenced by the competencies they possess. This study aims to answer how the principal's communication improves teacher performance motivation, and what are the supporting and inhibiting factors for the principal in improving teacher performance. This type of research includes qualitative research, data collected using interview, observation, and documentation techniques. From the results of the study, it can be seen that the principal's communication strategy in improving the performance of educators has a very positive impact on the performance of educators. The strategy used in improving teacher performance motivation is a facilitative strategy, the principal as a facilitator of all the needs needed to support the improvement of educator performance. Supporting factors for the principal's communication strategy in improving teacher performance motivation arise from individual factors, psychological factors, and organizational factors. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors arise from internal and external factors. Internal factors arise from the educators themselves, while external factors arise from the influence of the surrounding environment.
